A sincere thanks to all who got involved in our 6 week "Ireland Lights Up" 2024 event in partnership with Operation Transformation. We had over 350 people participate over the 6 weeks.

A big shout out must go to our many volunteers who provided invaluable support for the event.

  • Triona Downey and Celine Hurley who took on organising duties for the event
  • John Purcell, Kevin Bell, Mike McGrath with parking
  • Breda O'Leary, Michelle McAdoo, Debbie Linehan-O'Keeffe on registration duties
  • Colm Sweeney and family as chief pacers
  • Tadgh Daly, Denis ORourke, David Fay, Kevin Downey, Dan O'Riordan, Ciara Dwyer, Paul Tobin, Pat Golden as stewards on the route
  • Annette Hannigan, medical assistance
  • Johnny Driscoll, Tracy Desmond Bell, Noreen Healy & Frances Denny who arranged refreshments in clubhouse afterwards

Thanks must go to our local Community Garda team, especially Jim Morrissey, Paddy Casey & Anthony Sweeney who provided their general insights and assisted with major road crossings

This would not be possible without the support of our generous club sponsor Quish's Supervalu who provided fruit each evening of the 6 weeks and to SoS Binding who provided the hi viz jackets for each walker. Most grateful.

Keep up the walking!
